Templates

The UQAR library provides several templates depending on the length and format of the work:

  • Work under 15 pages
  • Work over 15 pages
  • Article-based thesis
  • Dissertation format

Access: biblio.uqar.ca/soutien-a-la-redaction/canevas

Note: some templates may require a login to the UQAR portal in order to be downloaded.

General Standards

At UQAR, there is no single presentation standard that applies across the whole university: the precise requirements (font, margins, line spacing) vary by program, discipline and the template chosen. Always refer to the template and guide for your discipline, or check with your program coordinator.

For reference, the common conventions are as follows:

ParameterConvention (indicative)
FormatLetter (8 ½ x 11 in)
FontTimes New Roman, Arial, Calibri or Cambria, 12 pt
Line spacingDepending on the template (for example, one-and-a-half spacing in the education guide)
MarginsAbout 2.5 to 3 cm (depending on the template)
Citation styleAPA (unless the program indicates otherwise)

These values are indicative. Always check the official template for your program, as requirements may differ.
